In April 1996, Mother Gabbadon and her two eldest daughters Venetta and Angela started holding Women's Fellowships entitled "Sister To Sister Retreats" in her house. At these fellowships Mother Gabbadon would teach a bible lesson, Venetta would lead praise and worship and Angela would preach a word from the Lord and pray for the women by the laying on of hands. Breakfast, lunch and a snack would be served because it was a all day affair.
These gatherings were designed to develop and build "Sisterhood" in the Body of Christ and many women from all denominations would be in attendance. From the offset, these meetings were very powerful and many were healed and delivered whenever we meant. After a couple of years the meetings grew and the women started to bring their husbands and children with them. So much so that the fellowship out grew the house and had to be moved to the Marion Anderson Community Center located at 17th & Fitzwater Streets in Philadelphia, PA.
During this time Angela had begun officially preaching in churches as an Evangelist. She also taught Bible Study for various ministries and groups and the Mission of Love Ministries begun to grow. God also called Venetta into the office of Prophetess and used them together as a ministry team through out Philadelphia.
In June 2000, the Mission of Love Deliverance Church was founded and started in the home of Pastor Angela (Swann) Robinson with 12 members under the spiritual covering of Bishop Jesse Lomax and the New Life Church of God located in Philadelphia, PA.
In July 2000, the church was officially incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania by Pastor, Malik Cherry (Pastor’s son) and Deacon William Ball. At the same time the Mission of Love Radio Broadcast was born and listeners could hear Pastor, Prophetess and Mother Gabbadon expounding on the Word of God in their live weekly 30 minute broadcast on 1360 WNJC AM. Pastor was also a co-host Monday through Friday at 10:00am to 12:00 noon on the Christian Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. Radio Broadcast at the same radio station.
The radio ministry at WNJC lasted for two tears, then the Lord opened the door for Pastor Angela (Swann) Robinson to minister on the top gospel radio station in Philadelphia,WDAS 1480 AM. She ministered the Word of the Lord on the Sunday night line-up which was the most listened to time slot at the radio station. The Lord opened the door for the ministry to be listened to by thousands of people throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and parts of Maryland. The radio ministry opened the door for Pastor to minister throughout the Delaware Valley at many churches, conferences, miracle services and healing revivals. Many would receive healing, deliverance and miracles when Pastor prayed for them.
God proved himself faithful and the church begun to grow. In June 2001, Mission of Love Church moved the worship services to the Airport Holiday Inn, 10th & Packer Street in Philadelphia. At the hotel the ministry gained strength and people from all races and walks of life were saved, set free and delivered in the services.
In November of the same year, the church moved into a store front located 1625 Chadwick Street in Philadelphia. The power of God meant us at the storefront whenever we opened the doors and the church grew even more. In March 2002, Mission of Love Church moved into a large facility at 1701 McKean Street, located in Philadelphia. At this location Mission of Love hosted many powerful conferences, retreats, revivals and special miracle services. People came from all over to be in the presence of God and to be anointed by the power of God.
In 2002, the Mission of Love Empowerment Center was founded and the ministry started several successful Community Outreach Programs. Mission of Love operated an Emergency Food Cupboard which fed over 1,000 people a year, a Clothes Closet, Homeless Feeding Program, GED Preparation & Adult Basic Education Training, Girls Mentoring Program and a Domestic Violence Program.
By divine design and appointment the Lord moved his servant to Brunswick, Georgia where the Mission of Love Church's vision was expanded in the beautiful Golden Isles.
In February, 2007 the Mission of Love Church opened it’s doors for the first time in the Brunswick area. Not long after the Lord started sending people to be apart of the church and the Lord has been building the ministry by His wonderful grace ever since. In December 2007, the Mission of Love Empowerment Center was officially incorporated in the state of Georgia.
The Empowerment Center is our community outreach that is dedicated to bring tangible solutions to the social, economic and community challenges facing the Glynn County area. We are planning to bring many innovative programs to help people better themselves on every level.
It is our prayer the Mission of Love impacts the world for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for we believe that"only what you do for Christ will last"!
